This is a little lengthy and I've taken it from the Austin Tenants Council web page. We are not  attorneys, nor do we give legal advice. This will give you and idea what your rights are, as well as the properties rights,. Interpreting the law is as they say "tricky".... if its tricky for the people that wrote it, needless to say we won't go there. Still...if you find yourself needing this information ...here it is.
